I can't believe holiday season is already here! I don't know about you but I hate buying gifts. HATE it. It gives me so much anxiety thinking about what they're going to like, what if they hate it. The thought of what they'll like, the fear of them hating it, or worse, not buying a gift for someone only to find out they got me something - it all gives me so much anxiety. A couple of Christmases ago, I made the decision to buy hair product gifts for every person in my family. It turned out to be the most stress-free time I've had deciding on gifts in years!

So as a product junkie, I wanted to share my favorite ones that address a variety of hair needs.

  1. The Curated Mystery Box for curly hair $59

This is a super fun gift for someone with wavy, curly, or coily hair! The box is filled with 3-6 travel-sized products (valued at least $65). One of their knowledgeable staff members will put together a box JUST FOR YOU (or your gift recipient) with things they think your (or their) hair will love. After checkout, you'll receive an email where you'll fill out a questionnaire for them to tailor it to you or whoever you're buying it for. Please note, this is final sale.

If you're looking to splurge a bit more, The Curl Warehouse also offers the 2023 Curl Advent Calendar (pictured above) for $129 with free shipping!! It looks like so much fun; I might order it for myself this year! The bundle comes with 13 travel-sized, holy grail, and customer favorite products and is available in 3 versions: Wavy, Curly, and Coily. Something to note- porosity and texture of the hair is a tad more important when choosing products. If you have coarse wavy hair or fine coily hair the standard wavy or coily products might not cut it. Light volumizing products wont do much for coarse hair and heavy butters and creams arent great for any curl pattern of fine hair.

So if you (or gift recipient) have coarse or low-porosity hair, you could choose Coily, which features products that suit these hair types. The Curly calendar is perfect for those with medium texture like me. For fine hair that is easily weighed down, try Wavy, as it has some of the lightest products, but also hold products that are essential to long lasting waves.

If you order this, PLEASE send me a message and let me know what you think! I would love to hear back from you.

  1. The K18 Damage Repair Starter Kit $102

Starting off strong with THE #1 best treatment for damaged hair, it's similar to Olaplex but on steroids. While Olaplex helps repair the disulfide bonds in the hair shaft, K18 takes it a step further by repairing both the disulfide bonds and the polypeptide chains damaged during coloring services and heat use. This one may come with the tag of being the most expensive kit, with small bottles at that, but man, do they pack a punch! Unlike Olaplex, which is a treatment you leave on for 10-20 minutes and then wash out, K18 is a leave-in treatment, making much more sense to me personally!

The kit includes the Peptide Prep Detox Shampoo - a non-stripping, color-safe, pH-optimized cleanser that unclogs hair follicles while banishing dirt, oils, and common metals like Nickel, Cadmium, Lead, Zinc, and Iron from hard and tap water, as well as residues left behind from heavy product buildup.

The Leave In Molecular Repair- reconnects both polypeptide chains (and as a result, also reconnects disulfide bonds) for strength along the length + width of the hair - offering comprehensive, lasting damage repair. All in just 4 minutes, no extra wash needed, and it even replaces your conditioner!

The Molecular Repair Hair Oil- 24-HR frizz control, 104% more shine, 78% reduction in split ends, 450°F (232°C) heat protection.

*The Amika Masktopia ($49.50) is a cheaper alternative that comes with all three of their mask types that I ADORE.

  1. The Loma Moisture Kit $44

Loma is one of my favorite brands for dry hair and this kit even comes with a bamboo paddle brush, the shampoo and conditioner, calming creme, light nourishing oil and nourishing oil treatment. Loma has a lot of things going for them. They are non-toxic, paraben, gluten, soy and sulfate free, and sustainably sourced.

Their cheaper little sister is The Loma Moisturizing Trio Travel Kit for $22 which comes with travel sizes of the shampoo and conditioner and their nourishing oil treatment.

  1. The Unite Give a Lot of Volume Kit $69

This kit is for those who wash their hair frequently or have fine, limp hair. This shampoo and conditioner set is gentle enough to use daily but cleansing enough to remove product build up on the hair. It delivers weightless volume and shine, is safe for colored hair and extensions as well as paraben, sulfate and cruelty free. The best part is that it comes with their 7seconds detangler! This is one of the TOP detanglers on the market, we can't even keep it on the shelves at my salon it sells so fast. It is a protein based spray that instantly smooths, detangles and protects from UV and thermal damage while sealing the cuticle.

  1. The Moroccanoil Color Care Gift Set $68

The Redken Color Extend Kit is a close second but this one offers more value as it comes with two additional products for just $10 more. This set includes the color-protecting shampoo and conditioner, Moroccanoil treatment, and hand cream—because who doesn't need that during the winter, ugh. The Moroccanoil treatment, with its main ingredient being argan oil, is rich in vitamin E, essential fatty acids, and antioxidants, and can increase hair's shine up to 118%!

I hope this helps, feel free to reach out with any questions you may have and happy holidays!
